Its design shares similarities with the PS5, meaning it'll look great on your desk next to the console.įor gaming performance, it has a great response time with both 120Hz and 60Hz signals, resulting in smooth motion. Regardless, what makes this great for the PS5 is that it's a Sony product with a few features that only the PS5 can use, like Auto HDR Tone Mapping, which optimizes the HDR performance and settings based on the game. It doesn't have the same deep blacks with minimal blooming as on the Samsung, but it still has an okay local dimming feature. You don't get the same remarkable picture quality as the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 S32BG85 because it doesn't have Mini LED backlighting.

I would much rather see them drop a device that could play scaled up PS4 base model games in the say 2.7 TFLOP range OR scaled down PS5 games natively. Remote Play exists on other devices, but they're not dedicated devices, they still contain hardware to play locally, which means the devices are still loud, bulky and expensive.Įvery streaming device (cloud or local) device I have used is lacking in one fashion or another. Sure, it has to decode the Remote Play stream, but a $5 chip can do this and Remote Play sips minuscule amounts of power when I use it on my mobile device. It has to do none of the calculations itself. PlaneInTheSky said:A dedicated Remote Play handheld means the device could be cheap, light and have plenty of battery life.
